THE DEADLINE TO COMPLETE ALL COURSES OF THE WINTER SEMESTER 2023/2024 IS 25.02.2024
Students who have passed all courses and examinations from the winter semester of the academic year 2023/2024 (grades are already in the USOS system) are requested to notify the relevant office (A210 or A211) by email or in person.
Urgent for the first-year students. All students of the first year of Bachelor degree and the first year of Master degree who begin their studies in the academic year 2023/2024 are obliged to take and pass:
- Health and Safety Training course (OSH course 2023/24)
- Training course in copyright 2023/24
- Library training 2023
This means that in order to be promoted to the second semester, all students of the first-year must complete all the courses listed above. For more about obligatory courses click here.
WHAT CAN A STUDENT DO IF THERE ARE NO GRADES IN USOS AND/OR SOME COURSES ARE NOT PASSED?
Student should contact the teacher and ask to put the grade into USOS.
The standard credit-earning period means the time when classes are held followed by the exam session.
Due to justified health problems or other reasons approved by the course teacher, student can apply for the prolongation.
Student can ask for the prolongation up to date specified by the Dean.
The winter semester 2023/2024 can be prolonged till 10.03.2024.
Student can apply for the prolongation of the standard credit-earning period, provided the course teacher agrees for the prolongation.
If the teacher agrees, the teacher signs the student's request letter. A template of the request letter can be found below.
In that case student is obliged to submit to Student Office the following request:
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: 7 days after the end of exam session.

If there are no chances for prolongation and at most 2 courses are failed counting from the beginning of studies (the grades are already in USOS), student can apply for conditional promotion to the next semester.
Conditional promotion to the next semester means that the student must study and pass the courses of the next semester and repeat all the courses not passed in the relevant semester.
Student has to repeat failed courses from the summer semester in the summer semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT SUMMER SEMESTER).
Student has to repeat failed courses from the winter semester in the winter semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT WINTER SEMESTER).
If the student wishes to apply for a conditional promotion, the student is obliged to submit to student Office the following request:
where student has to list all failed courses from the beginning of studies.

DEADLINE FOR REQUEST LETTER SUBMISSION: 7 days after either the end of exam session or the end of prolongation period.
Student cannot repeat the course twice.
If required to repeat some courses, student is obliged to:
- pay for each repeated course (before the beginning of semester),
- enroll on the course no later than the first week of the semester, by submitting appropriate request letter, (student can also send email to plan@wmii.uni.lodz.pl)
- attend classes and earn credits.
The Bank Account for repeated courses payments
In the USOS system (STUDENT SECTION Payments) a student can find the number of the bank account for payments on behalf of the University. Each student has his/her own virtual subaccount number within the University account which makes it possible to immediately recognize who has made the payment and reckon it up.
Student may have numerous virtual accounts. Each payment should be made to appropriate account.

Attention!!! The first semester of Bachelor Degree cannot be repeated.
If there are no chances for prolongation and more than 2 courses are failed counting from the beginning of studies (the grades are already in USOS), student can apply for repetition of the semester.
A student who has failed more than 2 courses cannot be promoted to the next semester.
In that case student is obliged to submit to Student Office the following request:
where student has to list all failed courses from the beginning of studies.

Student has to repeat failed courses from the summer semester in the summer semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT SUMMER SEMESTER).
Student has to repeat failed courses from the winter semester in the winter semester of the NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR (THE NEXT WINTER SEMESTER).
If required to repeat the semester, student is obliged to:
- repeat only failed courses,
- pay for each repeated course (before the beginning of semester),
- enroll on the course no later than the first week of the semester, by submitting appropriate request letter, (student can also send email to plan@wmii.uni.lodz.pl)
- attend classes and earn credits once again.
A student who applies for the semester to be repeated cannot attend classes from the next semester, and is obliged to pass all failed courses first.
ATTENTION!!! For students who apply to repeat a semester
Courses from a higher semester appear in the individual USOS account automatically, but the student cannot study them without the Dean's consent.
- If a student intends to study some/all courses from a higher semester, the student is obliged to submit request letter for taking courses in advance
- If a student does not intend to study courses from a higher semester, student is obliged to remove courses from the individual USOS account. In that case it is enough to write email to plan@wmii.uni.lodz.pl.
