Half an hour is also scheduled for questions. The link to the meeting can be found on the Lodz Cyber Hub website.
On 7 April, we would like to invite you to a meeting with Adam Peake, responsible at ICANN for cooperation with the academic community and non-governmental organisations. Adam has worked for many years at universities in Europe and Asia, including Japan. This Thursday, he will invite the participants of the meeting to discuss the current model of multi-entity management and the fundamental importance of the Domain Name System (DNS) for the functioning of the global Network and the role of ICANN in these areas. He will start with discussing the principles of DNS operation as well as ICANN's multi-stakeholder management system. He will also present some of the policies governing the operation of key internet service providers, including the impact of human rights law, especially the right to privacy, on their shaping and implementation.
ICANN is a global, non-profit organisation responsible for the operation of domains and DNS servers around the world (the so-called backbone network), as well as creating and managing the system of IP numbers assigned to each device with Internet access. The entire global Internet functions thanks to ICANN. Adam Peake already visited the University several times in the past year, and returns in April with online events.
